Our support charity

"He who knows not how to confer a kindness is unworthy to receive one"
Publilius Syrus

On the threshold of International Children's Day Armtek provided financial assistance to Sasha Rudik in buying a bone conductive hearing aid. The child was born without his right ear, the parents anyway had the hope that their son would be able to hear at least out of his left ear. But later it turned out that the hearing of the left ear is impaired too. Sasha had to go through numerous surgeries, but regretfully they did not bring the result expected.
We hope that buying a hearing aid for Sasha will help him to tackle his illness.

This month we helped the children from  Minsk orphanage ¹23. On Children's Day they received many different presents: various educational and developing toys, electronic baby swings, baby chaise longues, colourful books, puzzles etc.
Elena Sadikova, the orphanage Headmistress, and the entire personnel of the orphanage ¹23 expressed their gratitude to all the people of Armtek who did not stay indifferent and took part in the fundraising for buying presents.

In April 2010 Armtek Group helped in the treatment of a 13 year old boy Zhenya Volchek.

Zhenya loves soccer. He follows all soccer matches and knows the names of all soccer players. His dream is to become a famous goalkeeper.
But there is an obstacle on his way - a congenital heart defect (tetralogy of Fallot, pulmonary artery atresia, type 4) that requires surgical treatment.
The boy tries to play soccer with his friends but the only thing he can bear is 10 minutes of playing, then he has to sit on the bench suffering from shortness of breath and blackout in his eyes.

The funds for the heart surgery have been raised and the boy will be operated in Erevan medicine center in Armenia.

Armtek always pays a lot of attention to charity matters. Our aid to the least protected society members is either planned or spontaneous. For example, during the festive event dedicated to the celebration of the 23d of February our employees managed to collect monetary funds which were transferred to an account of “Shans” charitable foundation. This kind gesture allowed the foundation to purchase a hearing aid for a two-year-old girl, Alina Gorelova.

Alina’s illness was diagnosed as bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. The girl does not hear sounds from her birth. After the implantation of the hearing aid Alina will be able to understand speech and to speak herself.

New Year and Christmas Eve is always the time when we especially want to make a difference.
We have realized this will by helping children.

At the end of 2009 the team of Armtek Group  took part in the charity campaign “Give a life”. The amount raised as a result of this campaign totaled RUB 242 900.

This amount was planned to be transferred to the account of a “Give a life” charity foundation that supports the treatment of Artem Anokhin. As reported by the leaders of the foundation in their newsletter the necessary amount for Artem’s treatment had already been raised for the moment the funds had been transferred.

“Give a life” foundation thanked Armtek for its attention to Artem and offered to help one more seriously ill child — Natasha Melnikova.
Natasha Melnikova was born in December 2000 in the village Krasny Rog of Bryansk region. When she was 6 years old the medical examination revealed a serious blood disease – aplastic anemia. The bone marrow of patients with such diagnosis stops producing “proper” blood cells. The treatment included ATG (anti-thymocyte globulin) therapy.  Natasha’s body positively reacted to the second course of treatment, the symptoms of the disease disappeared.

But in August 2008 aplastic anemia relapsed. One more relapse happened in June 2009. Only bone marrow transplantation, the most serious and the last way to take this disease over, could help. The girl’s sister did not match as a donor. It meant that the transplantation had to be of remote donor type. The search for and activating this type of donor is very costly. However the funds were raised and the transplantation was done timely.
But a severe complication occurred quite unexpectedly – during chemotherapy an infection of lower jaw appeared right before the transplantation, it caused the development of chronic osteomyelitis. The disease is progressing despite of the treatment. This can lead to Natasha not being able to eat and speak normally. It is not possible to help Natasha in Russia; here she can only be offered either to have an iron jaw implant or just to watch the disease deteriorate.

The clinics abroad have positive experience in treating such diseases. Children get modern quality jaw implants. In Germany they are ready to treat Natasha and provide her with a lower jaw implant. The surgery will cost EUR 11 000. Natasha and her mother will also need money to live in Germany, to pay the translators, to pay for special food for the girl, for the way to Germany and back.
So out of the total amount raised we transferred RUB 154 070 to the account of charity foundation “Give a life” for Natasha’s treatment as well as RUB 38 830 to the savings account of Natasha’s mother. We hope these funds will speed the girl’s recovery up.

The team of Armtek Belarus also did not stay indifferent. During the Christmas week the whole Armtek Belarus team took part in a charity campaign. This was a fundraising campaign for the charity foundation “The Chance”. This foundation helps seriously ill children. The amount raised totaled BYR 13 042 360.

This money will be used to purchase and to implant a Baha (Bone Anchored Hearing Aid) system for a 13 year old Sasha Sidorchuk.
The boy has been suffering from chronic otitis media since he was 3. Moreover, till the present time Sasha is suffering from the complications. He was treated in hospitals many times.  Many surgeries were held, but in spite of the treatment the hearing deteriorated and the inflammations came back and became even worse. Today the doctors state the following diagnosis – conductive hearing loss of both ears (post-surgery condition).

Despite of the diagnosis and the problems that are constantly arising anew Sasha’s parents have got the hope for the recovery of their son. During the consultation by Dr. Khorov in Grodno region hospital they were recommended a Baha system implant. The implant surgery will be held in Grodno region hospital where they already have positive experience in such operations. The amount necessary for purchasing Baha implant has almost been raised. We hope that Sasha will be able to continue his school studies and will lead a normal lifestyle of a teenager.

June 2009. Money transfer on the account of Charitable Foundation "Chance" for treatment of 9-year-old Liza Moroz.
In autumn 2009 the girl is need of a series of surgeries and kidney transplantation.
Foundation "Chance" collected all necessary funds and Liza receives treatment in Paris hospital.

Àutumn 2009 we continued our cooperation with “Shans” foundation and made a transfer of monetary funds for the therapy of a three-year-old girl, Polina Mishuta. Polina is diagnosed with an “Ondine’s curse” – this is an unofficial name for the sleep apnoea syndrome or idiopathic apnoea. The collected funds helped to organize the performance of Polina’s operation for the implantation of system which stimulates breathing.

May 2009. Purchase of musical equipment for Velikoletchansky Orphanage (Belarus)

December 2008. In advance of New Years Day on 19th of December 2008 a tour of Minsk was organized for children from Velikoletchansky State Orphanage (the Vitebsk region, Belarus) within the framework of a charity event.

The program was planned, keeping in mind wishes of the children and their teachers. The program included: site tour through the city, walk through the old city (Troitskoye Suburb), visit to Holy Spirit Cathedral and The Museum of the Great Patriotic War.

In conclusion of the tour the children received gift sets of sweets, books and toys. Besides, every child received a New Year gift.

This is OUR responsibility!

As a part of activity of a charity foundation “Our responsibility” organized by team of Armtek Moscow,  RUB  50 000 were raised for a child orphanage ¹23. This amount was spent on presents like development toys and other things necessary for children. We supplied this orphanage with baby-jumpers, diapers, HIPP tea, toys and Christmas presents.

On behalf of Mrs. Sadikova, the orphanage Principal, we would like to thank everyone for their support and kindness to children.
