Renault Trucks increases the production in Kaluga
Company Renault Trucks increases the production in Kaluga with account of CIS’s markets. As the general manager of “Renault Trucks Vostok”, Fabrice Gorlue, said in the interview with “RBK daily”, there were launched 300 trucks in the previous year and, therewith, company increased the sales three times to 900 trucks in the Russian market. By his words, it is planned to sell 2 thousand vehicles in 2011, 3,5 thousand units in 2012 and 4,5 thousand units in 2013. There will be produced 80% of sold vehicles by “Renault Trucks Vostok” in Kaluga – with account of Russian, Byelorussian and Kazakhstan markets. The production capacities of Renault Trucks in Russia permit to produce 5 thousand trucks a year. The head of “Renault Trucks Vostok” remarked that the enterprise in Kaluga is a single plant of Renault Trucks abroad (they have two plants in France and a joint venture in Turkey). The company is ready to invest in Kaluga plant 50 million Euro (together with a partner Volvo – 150 million Euro), if Russian Government will confirm their inquiry for “industrial assembly” regime for some components production – chassis, cabins and etc.
According to the words of Mr. Gorlue, the share of Renault Trucks is 7%
in the Russian market among the foreign brands. It is planned to
increase the share to 16% by 2015 and the introduction of ecological
standards of Euro-4 and Euro-5 will play to the benefit of European
brands in trucks segment.
Mr. Gorlue has also informed that negotiations about assembly
organization of medium tonnages trucks Renault in the capacities of
“AMUR” plant are being continued and the final decision should be taken
by the end of March. It should be recalled that the company “Renault
Trucks Vostok” and Novouralsk plant “AMUR” signed an agreement about
intents, within which the assembly of trucks Renault Midlum and
components of Renault usage in some trucks “AMUR” are presumed.
The dealer network of Renault Trucks includes about 28 dealers in all
Russia at the present time and it is planned to increase their amount
to 50 units by 2013.
